Colors of Rajasthan – A Journey Through Photos

Rajasthan – The Land of Kings, a land where stories and legends come to life. From iconic battles to majestic palaces and tales about beautiful princesses… the stories are endless. The vibrant state of Rajasthan in India had been on my bucket list for years, and I finally made it there. Rajasthan is known for its culture, palaces, food and folk traditions but what caught my eye the most were the colors. There was something exciting waiting to be discovered at every corner. A journey through Rajasthan is like a trip of ecstasy, a vivid psychedelic treat for the senses. Come explore Rajasthan with me through these 25 colorful photos.

DSC01253A motorbike adorned with garlands. This was the most bizarre temple I have ever seen where people worship a motorbike. Yup! you read right…a motorbike! A small temple was built at the accident site on Hwy 65 in Pali by villagers to honor the death of Om Banna or Bullet baba and his bike. There are several amusing stories about how the bike would  magically drive itself to the location of the accident every night from the police station to be reunited with the owners spirit. A very interesting stop on the road trip indeed.

The people of Rajasthan are just as colorful as the state. I would like to imagine that this man is writing a letter to his one lost love sitting amidst these colorful sari’s, reminiscing her beauty and writing poetry. He’s probably just doing his accounts but no harm in romanticizing, after all it’s Rajasthan – “The Land of Kings.”

Hope you enjoyed this post. Happy travels!
